Transfiguration

noun

  1. : a change in form or appearance
  2. : an exalting, glorifying, or spiritual change

What’s your transfiguration trigger?

The sunset or sunrise that catches you off guard and you relax as you experience Gods creation. The feel-good film that gives the corners of your mouth a lift to match that of your heart as you are taken out of the everyday. Seeing a friend you haven’t seen for years, or singing a song you sang as a child, physical events that take you out of the mundane and into the amazing!

Next week the Book Club meets to discuss The Shack, the story of one man’s transfiguration from despair to joy, from rejection to acceptance. But as with so much in our lives, the message of The Shack takes time. I read it in 2007 when it was first published and I just didn’t get it. In 2019 I am where God wants me to be to understand, I have been transfigured.

After 4 years in this Benefice my clothes aren’t dazzling white, and my face hasn’t changed, but I have. Thank you.

Collect
Father in heaven, whose Son Jesus Christ was wonderfully transfigured before chosen witnesses upon the holy mountain, and spoke of the exodus he would accomplish at Jerusalem; give us strength so to hear his voice and bear our cross that in the world to come we may see him as he is; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen

We continue to pray for:
