Today’s Sofa service considers Jesus invitation in Mark 8. 34 – 36 to ‘deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me’.

The Andante of Bach’s Violin Concerto in A Minor performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra opens the service, and we close with the hymn ’‘Take My Life and Let It Be’ performed by Paul Zach and Liz Vice.

The Collect for the second Sunday of Lent:

Almighty God,
by the prayer and discipline of Lent
may we enter into the mystery of Christ’s sufferings,
and by following in his Way
come to share in his glory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
